I found Paulo Freire's article on  " The Banking Concept of Education" to be very philosophical and current to the problems faced in todays educational programs. In my opinion, his article can be related to teachers who educate elementary through high school grades. This is unfortunate clearly, because most if not all of our development takes place during those years. This concept that students are suppose to take the teachers words and beliefs as final and set in stone can rob children of an imagination, or to think differently about how the world operates. This method of teaching continues all the way up until high level college courses where professors will ask students to lead discussions and to come up with their own conclusions about problems through observation and research.
